Spring 2022 Innovations Workshop Schedule

The Innovations Workshop Series explores new ideas and pioneering strategies for enhancing student learning and teaching effectiveness. They are led by FIU faculty who are developing new and creative classroom techniques. In an effort to accommodate your schedules, we offer two identical sessions on different dates for each workshop.

Practicing Ungrading

This workshop explores an alternative grading practice referred to as "ungrading," in which quantitative analysis and feedback is replaced with qualitative feedback. In doing so, proponents argue that the practice can offset some of the known problems with traditional grading, and recenter students' attention on not grades, but learning as the focus of their education
