Whether this is your first teaching assignment, or you’ve been teaching at other institutions prior to joining the FIU faculty, the most important piece of advice we can offer is to engage with your colleagues, ask questions, and share ideas. Student learning is our collaborative project—we are all working together to provide the conditions for transformative learning, that is learner-centered, evidenced based, and culturally responsive. Student learning is our first priority, and the great thing is that we're learning all the time, too. You'll be developing as a teacher for the rest of your career.
