Are you designing a new course or teaching a course for the first time? Have you been trying to develop assignments based on a colleague’s syllabus? Would you like to discuss ideas for making class sessions more engaging for you and your students?
The New Faculty Course Design Institute can help!
During these sessions, participants will join an interdisciplinary group of new colleagues to discuss recent research on learning and what it means for our teaching. We’ll use a backward-design framework to guide you through the process of designing courses for significant learning. Faculty will develop or refine course learning goals and determine what kinds of practice and feedback are most important to help students accomplish them.
We are pleased that we will be able to offer a small stipend to new faculty who complete the institute. Space is limited. Register here.
