Bio
Ileana Hernandez is the Associate Director for Educational Development at CAT and an adjunct for the Department of Psychology. She leads the Contemplative Practices in Education initiative, supports adjunct faculty development, and contributes to other university-wide initiatives. Ileana facilitates workshops, reading groups, and Mindful Mondays for graduate students and faculty, and manages the Certificate in University Teaching and Learning program. She holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from FIU, is a licensed psychotherapist, and a Certified Mindfulness Teacher trained through UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. In her free time, she enjoys reading, practicing mindfulness meditation, traveling, listening to music and dancing, advocating for human and animal rights, and spending quality time with friends and family.
