TA Orientation

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching welcomes you to FIU!

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you play a vital role in this University. Your responsibility in the classroom is to provide learning experiences that facilitate student learning. Your transition and training for this new role include attending the 1-day TA Orientation. You can participate in either of the following sessions - whenever works best with your schedule:

• Wednesday, August 16, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (registration starts at 9:30 AM)
or
• Thursday, August 17, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM (registration starts at 1:00 PM)

Both sessions will be held in AHC-5 201. If you haven't already done so click here to RSVP.  To help us cater to your TA needs, please participate in a very short, 3-question, Pre-Orientation Survey.

If you're new to Florida and/or the United States, you will also find a Survival Guide created by Dr. Tom Pitzer and various graduate students in the Biological Sciences department, with valuable information such as how to obtain a Florida drivers license, apply for residency, etc.
